- Contact a lawyer and if you get arrested/picked up before you retain a lawyer, remember to exercise your right to remain silent.
What's the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor?
- Felony convictions carry a higher range of punishment, including fines, jail and/or penitentiary time. Whereas, the ranges of punishment for a misdemeanor only include fines and/or jail time.
Can I get charged with a crime when I have my medical marijuana card?
- Yes. It is a federal and state offense for a "drug" user to be in possession of a firearm. Until marijuana is no longer labeled a "drug" or a "controlled substance" you are not lawfully allowed to possess the firearm.
